There will also not be any foreign exchange conversion fees and withdrawal fees at any Citi proprietary ATMs worldwide or when you transfer funds to another Citibank account.
Please note that you may still be given an option for currency conversion during ATM cash withdrawals or POS transactions due to the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) process imposed by other banks on overseas transactions. You should reject currency conversion options to avoid incurring additional fees/charges.
DCC is a service that may be offered by a Merchant or Acquirer that enables a Cardholder – when travelling abroad or making a transaction that is not in their home currency (i.e THB) – to choose whether their transaction should be completed in either the local currency or their home currency (i.e THB). You can identify DCC transactions with (DCC) beside the transaction in your statement.
Cash withdrawals at Citibank ATMs are fee-free.
Cash withdrawals at non-Citi proprietary ATMs overseas may incur a service charge from the acquiring banks.

No. Your transaction will be automatically debited from your foreign currency account as long as there is sufficient balance.

However, if the website has converted your transaction to their local currency (not within the 8 currencies in Citibank Global Wallet, or a foreign currency account that you do not hold) during check out, you will be charged in their local currency accordingly and foreign exchange charges/administrative fees may apply. The final currency that you will be charged in is usually shown during checkout.

  • What happens if there is insufficient balance in my foreign currency account when making a transaction?

If there is no or insufficient balance in your foreign currency account or the local currency is not one of the 8 currencies or if Citibank Global Wallet is turned off, the transaction will be directed to Primary account linked with your Citibank Debit Mastercard.
